Granola is usually too sugary for parrots, and many mixes hide raisins, chocolate, or other add-ins — so it's a rare, careful treat at best, and only plain low-sugar versions.
Keeper's noteCheck for chocolate (toxic) and heavy sugar before sharing anything. A pinch of plain, low-sugar granola is fine; sugary store mixes are not worth it.
What to watch out for with granola
Granola's base (oats, nuts, seeds) is bird-friendly, but commercial granola is bound together with honey, syrup, or sugar and frequently includes chocolate chips or dried fruit. The sugar load and possible chocolate make it a food to scrutinize. A homemade, unsweetened oat-and-seed granola is a different, safer story.
How to serve it
Plain, low-sugar granola without chocolate or candy bits.
A small pinch occasionally as a treat.
Homemade unsweetened oat/seed mixes are the safest option.
