Can parrots eat rambutan?

Safe to share
Rambutan · Fruits

Yes — rambutan flesh is a safe, sweet treat much like lychee. Always remove the inedible seed first.

Keeper's notePeel, remove the seed, and offer the flesh. Sweet, so keep it treat-sized. Skip canned rambutan in syrup.

Why rambutan is good for parrots

Rambutan's translucent flesh is non-toxic and rich in vitamin C, and parrots enjoy its sweetness. As with lychee and longan, the central seed is not for eating and is a choking hazard, so it must be removed. The hairy skin is peeled away too.
